The Halvorsen Cup was created in 2006 to allow for the inclusion of the top six teams in the Halvorsen Division and is competed for on an annual basis at the end of the regular League season. The top six teams in the Halvorsen Division are seeded 1 to 6, the preliminary round matching the 4th and 5th seeds and the 3rd and 6th seeds. The 4 v 5 winner plays the top seed and the second seed hosts the 3 v 6 winner. The Halvorsen Bracket is pictured below.
The MCSSIHL promotes the interests of ice hockey on the secondary school level to the point that this activity shall be an integral part of the overall educational program. Vital to the league's mission are the ideals of good sportsmanship, quality ice hockey, and sound ethics in the cultivation of character.
The MCSSIHL is organized into four divisions; Mennen, Halvorsen, Haas and Charette, with divisional play culminating in an annual Cup Tournaments at the conclusion of the regular season. All player eligibility and rules of play are conducted according to New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association approved regulations.
MCSSIHL games are played at Mennen Arena in Morristown, New Jersey and Skylands Arena in Stockholm, New Jersey.
